AURIC

A New Era of Transnational MedTech Collaboration

This month represents a historic moment for Akunah

We are pleased to announce a strategic collaboration between Khalifa University, led by Prof. Ebrahim Alhajri, Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), represented by Marwan Alkaabi and Ravi Trehan, and Akunah, in partnership with KnG Education (Anuj Gupta), to establish the Australia UAE Research & Innovation Centre (AURIC).

This initiative is more than just an event; it is the foundation of a sovereign knowledge partnership that aims to shape the future of AI, clinical decision support, medical technology innovation, and personalised surgical care across borders.

We are also grateful to Ridwaan Jadwat for proudly flying the Australian flag in the UAE, as well as his ongoing support in advancing Australian MedTech diplomacy around the world.

Where AI Meets Clinical Practice

On November 4, 2025, at SSMC Abu Dhabi, AURIC convened leaders from Australia, the UAE, India, the United States, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the Philippines to investigate how AI-enabled insights, biomechanics, robotics, and data-driven clinical pathways are transforming orthopedics and sports medicine.

This was a CME-accredited event where academic leadership met active surgical practice, translating research into clinical action, not in theory, but in real-world systems.

Personalised Care at Scale

AURIC aims to accelerate a translational innovation model that moves beyond single-center research and into multi-system deployment, where AI-powered learning modules, structured registries, longitudinal datasets, and personalized analytics can drive treatment stratification and clinical outcomes optimization.

This is what personalised healthcare looks like when designed with intent.

Next Week — Barcelona

Our team will also be in Barcelona next week for BIASS 2025, alongside our partners Sironix. We will demonstrate Akunah's AI-enabled clinical intelligence tools and meet with surgeons, research groups, and industry partners shaping the future of shoulder and sports medicine in Europe. If you are attending BIASS, come meet the Akunah team in Barcelona and see our technology in action.
